The coolness of the air surrounding the house.
The inviting cosiness of the bed
I am by no means a morning person.
Heck, give me a holiday and I will probably only go to sleep sometime after 3 am or so.
I like the rain.
By that, I don't mean getting drenched head to toes.
Sure, my affinity's more to cold than hot.
Someone asked me before I would rather die of the heat or the coldness...do you have to ask? =P
I like the coldness, as it makes me more alert, or maybe to provide more comfort as I drift off into slumberland and my dreams go wild.
I never really did remember any of my dreams...although sometimes I woke up and found myself thinking..."woah...what the heck was that dream about?"
I had one several back which saw myself imaging a couple of my primary school friends decked out as the Emperor and Empress of China, and I was flying down on a flying-fox kind of thingy to report something to them.
Any idea what does that mean? I am not really sure either.
When I was younger, I often had a lot of..well...not so pleasant dreams, such as the steps of the escalators suddenly disappeared, and it resulted in me toppling down from the top into the greenish glow, before waking up with a start.
A lot of Singaporeans are already complaining that it seems a lot hotter...well...in a perspective, I think a hotter climate makes the greenery a lot more nicer for photography, I don't really mind the occasional rain-fall.
I remember back in Secondary School, there was one time where my NPCC squad had to do some marshalling duties.
My first thought was...
HOT!
In our full uniforms? White gloves?
Luckily, there was a downpour and my mates and I were quite delighted with it, literally standing right in the middle of the road and getting soaked to the skin.
Nothing's more refreshing than rainwater when you are standing in some clumbersome clothing.
Then again, even on normal days, where the sun gets boiling hot, there are a couple of people who must turn off the air-corn no matter how warm it was *cough*
Those sitting at my table started noticing, and nudging one another to turn it back on. That's one area I don't really understand. When the air-corn gets turned off in class, the air gets stale and dry. We guys are particularly sensitive to heat...or maybe we are just more tolerant towards coldness (interpret that in whatever way you want)...I'm just glad than we don't stumble out from class, looking like a dried-up peking duck roll.
Oh...where was I again? Oh yea. Today's weather was quite excellent for me, as it was moderately cool for the entire day.
Frankly, Sunday Film Arts have really improved from the old Arts Central, since they are showing more relevant and recent films. From Animation for November, to Japanese for December, I wonder what January's theme would be?
So, the film featured today (or yesterday, if you must insist), was Swing Girls.
A 2004 film which talked about how a bunch of giggling Japanese school girls were forced into a band when the bentos (lunch box sets) that they were supposed to take care of caused the entire brass band to fall ill.
One regular band member,Nakamura Takuo, who handles the cymbals, then turned band leader as he tried to bring the whole group, which feature two rock chicks, a low self-esteem girl and a whole gang of ditzy girls under control.
Without realising it, all of them soon developed a love for Jazz.
Wow...what can I say? Being broadcasted after Udon, which I quite liked, this chirpy film caught my eyes as well.
My sister was also able to caught it, and we ended up laughing at most of their on-screen tactics.
Although some of those were easily predictable, the way that they carried their tasks out was still a hoot to watch. Not a surprise, seeing as Swing Girl was directed by Shinobu Yaguchi, the same director behind the ever-popular Waterboys.
Question: Wine+fire=?
There was just something about the hyperactive personalities that made it a joy to watch, and that's considering that most of the cast members are from the actual band itself.
If you haven't watched it yet, please do so, either by renting or well, catching future repeat broadcasts.
For those who have watched the film, which Swing Girl do you like better?
My sister likes the drummer Naomi Tanaka, while I thought Kaori Sekiguchi (played by Motokariya Yuika) stood out.

Oh, there's the dolphin trainer guy from WaterBoys acting as their Maths teacher as well.
Worth a look, if you are interested...and also if you are a fan of comedies like me.
Hint: I think it is available on Crunchyroll in two parts.
Here's one of the final songs that they did.
Sing Sing Sing (With a sing) by Benny Goodman. Enjoy.
